Cinnamon Raisin Scones
(makes 8 scones)
- 1 3/4 cups plus 3 tablespoons of flour
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of applesauce
- 1/2 cup of low fat milk
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup of raisins
Directions:
1. Put 1 ¾ cup flour, 3 tablespoon of sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix all ingredients with large spoon.
2. Put apple sauce, milk, egg and raisin in a medium sized bowl with melted butter. Stir until ingredients are blended
3. In the flour mixtures add these wet ingredients. Stir until dough forms a ball.
4. Sprinkle the 3 table spoons of flour on the flour surface. Flour your hands well and move dough from bowl to surface. Knead the dough by using of your hand to push to push the dough away from you. Pull the dough back towards you with your hands folding over you as you pull it. Repeat it for about one minute.
5. Place the kneaded dough on a dry pizza pan. Pat the dough into an 8 circle. With a pizza cutter cut the dough in to eight equal wedges.
6. place the pan in to a pre heated 425ยบ oven and bake for until golden brown it will take almost 15-20 minutes.
